Louis Vuitton Showcased Takashi Murakami’s Iconic Works at Art Basel Hong Kong
Louis Vuitton brought Murakami’s bold, boundary-pushing world to Art Basel Hong Kong 2025, presenting an immersive exhibition of his most iconic works.
Louis Vuitton brought Takashi Murakami’s bold, boundary-pushing world to Art Basel Hong Kong 2025. Known for his signature Superflat aesthetic, Murakami’s works blur the lines between high art and pop culture, making this exclusive showcase a must-see for art lovers and collectors alike.
Stepping into the space feels like entering Murakami’s universe — vivid, playful, and unapologetically avant-garde. Flanked by towering statues Zoucho-kun and Tamon-kun (2003), the space features Superflat Jellyfish Eyes 1 (2003), a mix of sculptures, textiles, and prints, and a hidden screening room showcasing Murakami’s video works.
The exhibit also celebrated Murakami’s long-running collaboration with Louis Vuitton, featuring pieces from past collections like the Monogram Multicolore Marilyn Trunk (2003) and Monogramouflage (2008). With the Louis Vuitton × Murakami 2025 collection on the horizon, this presentation marks a new chapter in their artistic partnership.
The showcase ran from March 28-30, 2025, highlighting Louis Vuitton’s deep-rooted connection to contemporary art, a legacy that spans nearly a century. Those who attended Art Basel Hong Kong had a chance to experience Murakami’s vision and the House's artistry in one electrifying space.
